House Cleaning Finds

When doing a house cleaning – the kind where you pull everything you own out of its drawers and make huge piles on the floor – you might find:

This amazing bedspread from India, full of embroideries and quadrillions of teeny tiny mirrors that reflect the sunlight, making everything around it glimmer like stars in the sky.

A piece of old lace trim tucked into a narrow chink in one of your cupboards. It might have ended up there by coincidence, but I prefer to think that someone hid it there a long, long time ago, with the intention that I (even though I was probably not born at the time) someday would find it.

No less than 15 (fifteen) rolls of film (+ one disposable camera) from times long ago forgotten. I can’t wait to bring those memories back to life.

Those adorable French magazines from the 1930’s you forgot you had, along with postcards of about the same age, some written, some still waiting to bring greetings from you to your loved ones.

That vacuum storage bags are the thing. This one holds two cozy down bed covers plus two pillows. Saves a lot of space, and things are kept fresh in there as well. Brilliant!

That you already have a pair of the perfect black boots for the fall – no need to buy new ones, yay!
